Jean-Paul Weaver
Jean-Paul Weaver is a multi-disciplinary artistic collaborator that documents Haitian identity through a contemporary lens and ritual. She is a certified World Tae Kwon Do Federation 1st Dan Black Belt, holds an A.A. in Theatre and Dance from Casper College, and trained in contemporary dance at Alonzo King’s Lines Ballet Training Program. She has worked with choreographers such as, Kathleen Hermesdorf, LeeWei Chao, Kara Davis, Micheal Velez, Elizabeth Castineda, Cleo Parker Robinson, Camille A. Brown, Nijawwon Matthews, Gustavo Ramirez Sansano, and Dieufel Lamisere. Past company credits include, Deeply Rooted Dance Theater II, Elements Contemporary Ballet, Polaris Dance Theatre, Texture Contemporary Ballet, Staycee Pearl Dance Project, San Francisco Opera, Pittsburgh Opera, and Santa Fe Opera. She has presented her own work at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater’s newMoves Contemporary Dance Festival, Texture Contemporary Ballet, Pearl Diving Movement Residency, Santa Fe Outdoor Vision Festival, Shift | Lush, and Indy Convergence. Jean-Paul is the Founder and Lead Artistic Collaborator of Selke-Dimanche LLC. Selke-Dimanche is the artistry of opportunity and works with Haitian artists and schools. Creating opportunities for the international community to invest in the creative capital of Haitian artwork/identity, while documenting the creation of equitable systems of cultural exchange that empowers Social Enterprise in Haitian communities.
